Even as Facebook is about to launch a new page, Twitter news is exploding with phenomena. Read the following article at the Guardian. Another good reading place is TechCrunch where you realize that news is breaking first on Twitter, NOT TV! Now that’s amazing!
“The mainstream news media is watching us on Twitter. We in turn are watching them. But unlike the old days, you can block people on Twitter. Will Twitter users start to block journalists they don’t want to be followed by? Will news outlets start to not declare their Twitter profiles, in order to avoid this?” Courtesy of TechCrunch.
So where is Twitter going? Seems like Japan is the next stop! Twitter announced in January that it is expanding it’s services to Japan. In their words “Despite the fact that Twitter is in English, we continue to see exciting growth from all over the world. Japan, in particular shows a very strong and growing demand for Twitter services. Movatwitter andTwitterpod are great examples.” Twitter blog
Twitter in Japan would be a big step towards becoming a worldwide communications network. Watch out Facebook…tweets are expanding from east to west!
